PVGCD OFFERS “MAJOR RIVERS” PROGRAM TO DISTRICT SCHOOLS

Pecan Valley Groundwater Conservation District, in an effort to promote water education and conservation practices, is providing the “Major Rivers” curriculum to many of the Intermediate schools in the District.  The program was initiated in the 2006-07 school year and is financially supported by PVGCD for subsequent years providing perishables and updated materials.

“Major Rivers” is a TEKS affiliated, two-week course that includes teacher lesson plans, student workbooks, and fun-filled educational experiments.  “Major Rivers” and his horse, “Aquifer,” will take students through seven lessons ranging from explanation of the water cycle, to the importance of conserving our life-giving natural resource …. WATER.
